Summer University Success

This summer one of our Year 13 pupils, Bismha had the opportunity to attend a three week summer university programme at Swansea University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Deciding to study the Law, Criminology and Psychology module she says that, “The programme was very beneficial as it equipped me with the necessary skills for higher education. It was very important in helping me to decide which path to take after sixth form and it gave me a real taste of what university life is really like.”

This programme is aimed at Year 12-13 pupils who attend sixth forms and colleges and is held every year to give pupils the experience of university life. Bismha then went on to win an award for achieving the highest mark in her module and says, “I now wish to study a joint honours degree of law and sociology at Cardiff University. I am thankful to the school for giving me this opportunity and Mr Gwynn for encouraging me to go.”
