A-Level Success!

Congratulations to our students and teachers for their outstanding achievements as we again celebrate a year of excellent A level results!

In several key performance measures we have improved on last year. The overall pass rate has increased to 99% with nearly 80% of entries achieving grades between A* – C. These high standards will provide an excellent foundation for students as they progress confidently to university, further training and the world of work.

Yet again the number of top A and A* grades that our students achieved has been outstanding with an amazing 30% realising these grades in A Levels and equivalent qualifications. High proportions of top grades are evident in Business, Health & Social Care, History, Biology and Law. Our programmes to challenge and support our more able and talented students is evidently working well.

Our highest achieving students include Emily Jones, Greg Evans, Alice Barnes, Isabel Davies and Danny O’Leary who between them achieved 8A*, 15A and 2B grades.

This year we are likely to see close to, if not 100% of students who applied to higher education being accepted on a university course – the vast majority at their first choice institution. We have seen a large number of students gain places at Russel Group and other local universities with Emily Jone gaining a place at Oxford University to study English Language & English Literature. Many other students have achieved the required grades to move into apprenticeships, further training and employment.

We wish all our students well in the future!
