UPDATED WEDNESDAY 28/2/2018
Following clear advice from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, I write to advise that St Joseph’s will be closed to all pupils and staff tomorrow (Thursday, 1st March).
The Met Office has reconfirmed tomorrow’s amber weather warning for South Wales and raised the risk level to ‘likely’ for significant snowfall. Whilst the amber alert comes into effect from midday tomorrow, the advice received is that snow is likely to fall quickly and intensely and it is, therefore, unlikely that there will be sufficient time to arrange all the transportation needs for pupils and staff to get home safely, if a decision were left until lunchtime tomorrow.
In relation to Friday there is no local authority advice so no decision has been made at this stage to close the school on Friday. Please refer to the school’s website for any update about Friday.
As a consequence of the school closure, Year 11 Parents’ Evening will be postponed until Monday 5th March.
