Wednesday 10th July saw Year 9 pupils participate in the first round of the annual Young Dragons business challenge. Organised by Careers Wales, the competition replicates the format of the popular ‘Dragon’s Den’ TV series where contestants have to design a product and advertising campaign and pitch their business to a panel of experts.
The brief this year was to design a new tourist attraction based on a nautical theme and pupils rose to the challenge magnificently, producing innovative and inspiring designs. In a hotly contested final, the winning team consisted of Greg Evans, Danny O’Leary, Harleigh Campbell, Katie Clement, Alice Barnes, James Linnane, Tawney Jones and Elisha Condon. They will now get to develop their design further before competing against teams from other local schools in the semi-finals in September.
