St. Joseph's Sixth Form Centre
Transition from Year 11 to Year 12
Moving from Year 11 to Post 16 education is a big step – what we have tried to do at St. Joseph’s Sixth Form Centre is make this transition as easy as possible.
We have lots of opportunities for you to find out about our thriving Sixth Form Centre. Applying to join us next September is straightforward too. Just click the link below to get started.
Pastoral and Academic Support
Morning Care and the Form Tutor
Morning Care
At the start of Year 12 you will be assigned a form tutor who will be seen daily in Morning Care, the starting point for each day. This means that you will get to know your tutor very well during the course.
Form Tutors
It is the tutor’s role to monitor the day-to-day welfare of students in their form, as well as their academic and social progress. Of course, being a part of a tutor group means that you will be with a group of students who offer friendship and mutual support.
Support and Guidance
We want you to reach your full potential in the sixth form. Every student is expected to achieve the very best they can and we will support you to do this! The Pastoral Team will monitor your progress closely, setting you target grades to meet which will be reviewed throughout the year.

Life in the St. Joseph's Sixth Form
Sixth Form Routines
Sixth Form Dress Code
Here at St. Joseph’s Sixth Form Centre, we do not enforce a school uniform for our Sixth Form students. However, we do operate a formal dress code and we expect all students to comply with it.
Student Attendance
We take attendance in the Sixth Form seriously, and believe that attendance and achievement are closely linked. It is our intention to ensure that all students, parents/carers are aware of the policy and the steps involved.
Student Discipline and Behaviour
he ethos of the Sixth Form stresses the development of self – discipline, and all students are expected to behave in a polite and courteous manner to each other and to staff.

Mrs Jodie Gow
