Keeping Safe
At St. Joseph’s Catholic School & Sixth Form Centre, the health and safety of all children is of paramount importance.
If you, or someone you know, needs help, please speak to someone you trust in school. Asking for help is a brave thing to do, but it means you or someone you are worried about can get the support you need to feel safe and well.

Parents send their children to school each day with the expectation that the school will provide a secure environment in which their children can flourish.
The Governing Body and school staff, therefore, make every effort to ensure that this expectation becomes a reality. In order to do this, a wide range of measures and policies have been put in place.
Safeguarding encompasses a wide range of issues. At St. Joseph’s we have developed strong relationships with families and we feel that student learning goes hand in hand with student wellbeing.

The Safeguarding Team
There is a Safeguarding Team made up of senior staff who co-ordinate and lead our safeguarding and child protection within the school.
This is in addition to the Learning Leaders who work collaboratively with all staff in school to ensure that our pupils and students become successful learners whilst developing positive attitudes and healthy behaviours.
If you have a concern about yourself, your child or a member of staff, you are invited to speak to any member of the Safeguarding Team who are contactable via the school office (01639 884305).
