Homework at St. Joseph's

Homework is an important part of a child’s education.  It can help develop independence, and helps to foster the links between home and school.  Our recent consultation exercise on the use of  homework showed that there was a wide variety of views on how much homework should be set.  However, one thing was clear: students and parents needed to know how much homework to expect, and when it would be set.

In order to provide as much information as possible, we have two resources you can use:

The homework schedule will be published at the start of the academic year.  The schedule will outline approximately when homework will be set by each subject, with a guide on the type and theme of the homework.

The ClassCharts homework diary is a ‘live’ record of homework that has been set for each class and for every subject.  This will include due-dates and any other helpful information or resources needed.  This can also be accessed from the ClassCharts app available for IOS and Android devices.
