St. Joseph’s has a very successful and expanding vocational provision on offer to pupils and students at both key stages. The BTEC courses that we offer are in subjects that benefit from a vocational pathway and ranges from Art to Construction to Fashion to Sport.

Vocational study at St Joseph’s opens a clear pathway to future study or employment as many courses are linked to further education provision either within the Sixth Form or Post 18 through university courses and apprenticeships.

At Key Stage 4, the school currently offers Level 2 courses in:

  • Art & Design
  • Applied Science
  • Business Studies
  • Children’s Care, Learning and Development
  • Construction
  • Engineering (in collaboration with NPT College)
  • Fashion & Clothing
  • Hospitality
  • Hair & Beauty (in collaboration with the NPT 14-19 Network)
  • Health & Social Care
  • Sport
  • Workskills

Within the Sixth Form, the school offers a mixture of Level 2 and Level 3 courses to all students depending on what curriculum they require.  These courses are offered at 1 AS/AL equivalent size unless otherwise stated.

At Level 3:

  • Business Studies
  • Health & Social Care (Subsidiary Diploma – 1 AL equivalent)
  • Health & Social Care (Diploma – 2 AL equivalent including Work Experience)
  • Art & Design

At Level 2:

  • Travel & Tourism
  • Public Services
